Recently the sister-city tie between San Francisco and Osaka was cut.
It is a sad news between U.S and Japan.
It is due to statue of victims
Korea asked SF to put statue of victims that criticize Japan.
It says "estimated 200,000 women were suffered from Japan" without any evidence.
Even U.S.A and Korea did similar things at the war, they criticized Japan.
The issue of sex on the battlefield is not a problem particular to the former Japanese army. This problem was present during World War II with the American, British, French, German, and Soviet armies, as well as during the Korean War and Vietnam War with the South Korean Army.
[...]
Attempts to single out and criticize only Japan will make us blind to other past atrocities and also to contemporary problems of the same kind. This issue should not be treated as an issue specific solely to the Japanese military.
Sister-city Osaka got angry
At that time Osaka has sister-city relationship with San Francisco.
For good relationship, Osaka city mayor asked SF to remove this "one-side-criticized" statue within a year.
Is it for awareness to the sex trafficking of women during wartime ?
Logical answer is "no". It is just a propaganda.
The reason is because they picked up Korean, Chinese, Philippines.
If it is for awareness to the sex trafficking of women during wartime, they should be self-regret like below.
- German (Victims of U.S. troop crime)
- Lai Đại Hàn (Vietnamese victims of Korean crime)
- U.S. military women (Victims of U.S. military crime)
Retired California judge and current chairman of the Comfort Women Justice Coalition, Julie Tang, refuted this claim by stating the memorial statue tackles the issue of women's freedom from sexual violence, such as through rape and assault during wartime.

Sister-city relationship was end.
Even 1 year had passed, SF did not take any action for this issue.
So Osaka decide to finish sister-city relationship with SF.
But SF said "disappointed".
Why did SF say such a impolite thing like "disappointed" ?
SF continues to defame Japan.
So it is just expected result.
It's OMG sister-city !!
